WirelessTrips.com Campground Review: Lake-in-Wood Camping Resort - Narvon, Pennsylvania
Wi-Fi Yes
Cell phone access Yes
When we drove into the Lake-in-Wood Camping Resort, the children started bouncing around with excitement. The scenery is gorgeous, the pool is incredibly entertaining (lots of characters with squirting water and a swim-in bar) and everyone there seems very happy and relaxed.
We treated ourselves by renting a golf cart for our three-day stay. The place is pretty big and while everything is within walking distancewhat the heck, right? The golf cart was $100 for 3 days, which enabled us to explore the entire resort.
It rained one day so we went into town and did the touristy stuff. Lake-in-Wood is set back in the forest, surrounded by Amish farms, so youll see lots of buggies on your way here (and lots of horse poop on the roads). Be sure to stop by the roadside produce stands and pick up some corn on the cob for grilling at the campground!
When we werent in town, the children were spending all their time in the pool, fishing at the lake, making new friends and buying burgers, ice cream and slushies at the caf.
This place was so nice that were going to start looking for campgrounds with the word resort in their names.
My only complaint was the condescending tone one of their staff used with me when I asked her when we needed to return the golf cart that night. It was clearly bright outside and the sun was still shining and I was put off by the way she lectured me on needing to return the cart within the next 20 minutes before dark. Wed paid for it through the following morning but wanted to return it early because we were leaving at the crack of dawn.) It clearly wasnt going to be dark for the next hour or more.
Four out of five marshmallows (well definitely be back).
