Richard’s Windy Workout

We’re heading back out on the road today and woke up this morning to some incredible wind gusts. The bushes beating on the window startled me awake and, remembering this is a driving day, I started worrying. Wind is NOT an RVer’s friend.

You can see a photo of a duststorm we encountered HERE.

Richard’s getting quite a workout now as I sit here typing while he is white-knuckling the steering wheel down the Interstate. I think I can detect a bit of perspiration on his brow as well. I was poking fun at him and just read the wind advisory out loud from weather.com. “Drivers of high-profile vehicles like vans and campers should exercise caution…” I was going to offer to drive in an hour or so but I’ve changed my mind. Nothing worse than trying to keep this big thing from jumping lanes.

I just looked and there are eight RVs in front of us. If they can survive this wind, so can we!

We’re going to be at a beach tonight, but I imagine the waves are going to be pretty rough. We won’t let the children swim when it’s this windy. It’s a bit too chilly anyway.

We’re having a weenie roast with friends on the beach tonight and the children are excited about that.

Max is sitting in his seat singing the “squishin’ up my baby bumble bee” song. He only knows two lines and he’s singing them over… and over….. and over again.

You can photos of our Galveston trip HERE.
