Pizza at Becky and Scott’s House

At about 11:30 p.m. last night, just when I thought I might be about finished and ready to go to bed, Mason woke up and let me know it was play time! Ug! I bathed him and then we ate some popsicles and played and watched TV until about 2:00 a.m., when he finally went back to sleep.

Today, we drove to Racine, Wisconsin to spend a few days with Richard’s family and childhood friends, Chris and Scott. We checked our email at the campground and then drove to his sister’s in the late afternoon. Max was thrilled to see his cousins Emma (age 3) and Ben (age 6) for the first time in two years. They immediately started playing like no time at all had passed. Emma was so sweet She kept calling “Baby Mason” a “she.” When Richard’s mom corrected her, telling her Mason is a “he”, she started crying. I said it was okay. She could call him a she if she wanted. Mason didn’t mind. He was basking in all the attention anyway.

Pizza was ordered and Richard’s friends, Chris and Scott, arrived. They’re two very funny fellows and everyone had a great time. Mike, Richard’s almost-step-dad, sat with Max and Ben, watching them play video games, and spent some time talking to me.

When the pizza arrived I went downstairs to nurse Mason. He ate quickly so he could get back to the action upstairs. We left pretty late and we were very tired but happy to have seen the family and friends again.
