Escaped!
Well, we got out of Bangor just at the start of a light afternoon snowfall. Managed to get to Poughkeepsie, NY around 1 a.m. despite losing a headlight about an hour outside of Poughkeepsie.
We had to stay at a hotel because the weather is still too cold to sleep in the RV. We have furnace, but our fresh water and holding tanks aren’t heated. So if we fill them up we run the risk of water freezing in the pipes and causing the plumbing to burst.
Plus, very few campgrounds are open this time of year in New England.
Got to try a new toy this trip - a NetGear Wireless Travel Router. It is specifically designed for business travelers - allowing them to set up an instant wireless network in their hotel rooms without having to tinker with any settings. It is very small (about the size of a deck of cards).
It works as advertised. When we hit the hotel room last night, I plugged it in and it worked right out of the box - no configurating anything. Of course, in order to do that, NetGear has to turn off all security.
Before we use it in the RV, I’m going to secure it.
