Is it possible to live on the road for weeks at a time in an RV when your lives depend on high-speed Internet access? That's the question we intend to answer. This blog is a chronicle of the adventures of keeping our Internet business and family life running while on the road.

Note from North Carolina (Raleigh area). Might be clear next week, sunny and 60 Thursday but highs in the 30's Friday & Saturday with possible snow/sleet mix! We're hoping for snow! Hope you have a great trip! We're firm believers in Duct Tape, lol.

ANGELA RESPONDS:

Hiya Bonnie,

We're heading for North Carolina as I type! The sun is peeking through the clouds off and on but snow is supposed to start here around lunchtime. If we can just get below the freeze line, we'll be fine. Then we should just get rain. If we miss it and it starts to snow, we'll pull off somewhere and probably get a hotel room until the roads are clear again.

We don't see much rain in Maine this time of year. Growing up in Texas, we experienced beautiful thunderstorms all the time. In Maine, a raging thunderstorm is a rare treat. We've ridden through some pretty bad storms down south in the RV and, let me tell ya, those are an adventure! I'm actually more concerned about a tree falling and crushing the RV than I am about a tornado. If we did have a tornado warning, we would run to the campground bathroom for protection. Many of those are constructed of cinder blocks.

We'll be in North Carolina by lunchtime! :)

Hi Angela...did you stay in Freeport or Portland? They are very different and ther's a few miles difference there. Lovely towns, both, but I got all confused there in the play by play.

Hope you made it to Lancaster and left the rain behind...we had horrible rain here in the Lehigh and Delaware Valley's of PA - Allentown/Philly area on Monday.

Have fun!

Y'all ought to head to Flat Rock, North Carolina! Our snow finally washed away in - I'm sure! - the same deluge that got you in Maine. Lord - tornado warnings in the mountains. Anyway - gorgeous today already getting up to almost 40 degrees and it's only 10:32- hot. Enjoy your journey with your thingamabob holding on your whatchmacallit with duct tape! Love, love, Loyd

HIYA LOYD AND KEN!

How are you two? We will indeed be passing through North Carolina sometime next week but I'm not sure which route we're taking. Richard planned this entire trip. He's the Recreational Coordinator while I'm the Safety Inspector...hence my paranoia about the duct tape. ;)
