Clang!
We got up early yesterday and ate breakfast at the local Cracker Barrell. While eating, Richard accidentally knocked the pepper shaker against his plate and it made an ear-piercing CLANG! The entire restaurant got silent for just a moment. A few seconds later, Max dropped a huge, glass bottle of root beer on the floor and it shattered into a zillion pieces. We couldn’t get out of there fast enough.
It had been snowing when we left the campground but we found rain toward lunchtime. We had a fairly short driving day so the children got to play outside when we arrived at the campground. The owners there have a dog and Percy would go nuts whenever he saw that doggie walking by. So, we kept the shades down most of the time. Percy has adapted quite nicely to the RV lifestyle. He gets to watch trees running by the windows all day long and I think he thinks we’re chasing all the other cars on the freeway. When he’s tired, he crawls into someone’s lap and he always gets a treat when we stop somewhere.
We had steak on the grill for dinner and s’mores for dessert. Yum! Percy, of course, got the leftovers.
We’re heading west today, from Georgia to Mississippi. We’ll be spending two days in Vicksburg, touring the civil war sites for the children’s homeschooling history lesson this week.
