Choo Choo, Fine Dining and the Bathtub Photo Shoot
After a quick breakfast at Mr. Pancake (it was really bad - crowded, noisy, slow service, limited menu, and below-average food), we went back to the RV and worked this morning and then headed to the much-anticipated train ride at the Mid-Continent Railway Museum.

It was kind of a disappointment, though Max had a good time. The train goes one way and only takes a few turns. The most exciting part is when you cross a street. Whoo hoo! (Sarcasm intended.) They then move the engine from the front to the back of the train and then go back the “station” the same way. The train ride is supposed to last for 45 minutes. You ride (very slowly) for 15 minutes, wait for them to switch the engine, and then ride back for another 15 minutes. I thought we’d at least see some pretty Wisconsin scenery, but most of what we saw was cornfields. B-o-r-i-n-g.
When we finished, it was about dinnertime, so we headed back to The Dells. We decided a “fine dining” steak was what we needed so we went to Field’s Premier Steak House.
The food was good. My steak was really good and my dessert was outstanding. But, the service was soooo slow! We had to wait about 15 minutes just to get the check! In the meantime, since the children had already eaten, they were getting cranky. We finally escaped (it was VERY expensive) and went downtown again. I’d talked Richard into going to the old-time photo studio. We got bathtub photos taken. In ours, Richard is sitting in the tub, holding a gun, and I’m sitting in a towel next to the tub, holding an empty bottle of Jack Daniels. My leg is between his knees and his hand is on my knee and the photo is pretty racy. I really like it!
In the other one, Mason and Max are sitting in a washtub. It turned out so cute! I’m going to write to the photo place to see if they’ll let me post the pictures here in exchange for mentioning their name.
We walked for a bit and bought a couple of t-shirts. The town is really big, but there really wasn’t anything else we wanted to see and we were glad we’d be leaving the next day.
