Campground Review: Jellystone Park Caledonia - Caledonia, Wisconsin

We got lost coming to this campground and used our cell phone to call the campground office. It was the middle of the day and I was upset when we got their machine. I�d gotten their machine twice before when trying to make reservations. We called a friend who lives here and he told us which way to go.
We arrived and the children started jumping for joy when they saw the big, blue waterslide! Their joy was cut short when we were told the waterslide was broken�but to check back �tomorrow� to see if it would be fixed. They did check back �tomorrow� and it was still broken. We chose this campground for the cool waterslide even though they don�t have wi-fi access. The children spent four days staring longingly at that waterslide and it was never fixed. We paid $10 for the children to ride the cool bikes here. But, when we went outside, only one remaining bike was working, so they couldn�t ride together. We went back inside and the person who we�d just paid $10 cash to didn�t offer us $10 back. She gave us a credit. Well, the children never did get to ride the bikes. We�re now on our way to Illinois without our $10. I�ll call and demand they credit it to my card or mail me a refund check.
On our last night there, I saw a teenager ride by on one of those bikes. He was going way too fast and had a small child in the child seat on the back. Why they don�t have seatbelts on their child seats, I�ll never know. That�s a lawsuit waiting to happen. The teen hit the brakes and did a 360 in that bike. The child on the back almost flew out of the seat. I picked up my cell phone to call the office so they could send someone out to stop that stupid teen from endangering the child. Guess what? Their machine picked up.
I proceeded to leave a message and while I was doing so, the woman in the front office (same one who we�d paid the $10 bike money to) picked up. Why didn�t she just pick it up when it rang? What if there was a genuine campground emergency and nobody could get immediate help from management? If it�s during business hours, you should answer your phone. If you don�t have time to answer the phone, hire more help.
This campground was much quieter than the last and very wooded. But, if we didn�t have relatives so close, we�d probably not stay here in the future.
