Cell phone access Yes

Branson, Missouri is the Las Vegas of the Midwest. Too bad we were only here for one night because there are enough shows, shops and other entertaining things to keep us busy for quite awhile!

Americas Best Campground Branson is big and clean and has well-spaced lots and plenty of trees and shade. Its quiet and the staff is very friendly and professional. When we arrived, it was very hot and humid. We kept the RV door closed and the air conditioner on high. While changing into my bathing suit, a fly zipped past my headand then it did it again and again. I absolutely detest flies and immediately hired Frank to kill the little bugger. What I thought was one aggressive fly was actually five flies! It took about half an hour, but Frank got them all, earning himself $2.50. I couldnt figure out how five flies had been in the RV for 300+ miles without our knowledge.

We raced off to the pool, which was small but very clean and bright. It was quite refreshing! We went back to the RV at dinnertime and ordered pizza from the local Mazzios, which was recommended by the nice lady at the campground store. The pizza was excellent! We then retired outside because it had cooled considerably (and sitting in the RV for more than a few hours gives you claustrophia). Max played ball with all of us and Frank got his Styrofoam plane stuck in a tree. He climbed the tree and shook it with all his might, dislodging the plane. As the sun set, the fireflies came out and Frank caught a few for Max to look at. Ali and I ate popsicles while the boys played and we really enjoyed the quiet, the cool breeze after such a hot day, and the darkening sky. It was then that we discovered where the flies had come from. Quite a few buzzed around our heads while we were chatting, so they were apparently camping there as well.

This campground doesnt appear to have any planned activities for the children. The pool and the game room were the only places of interest to them. Its nearby all the major attractions in Branson but far enough removed to be quiet and peaceful. Richard tried to shower in the closest bathroom, but it was closed. A sign on the wall said someone had been trying to start a fire in there (which shocked us because its such a quiet place). So, he had to walk to the other bathroom across the campground. This campground seems to cater to adults rather than children.

If youre looking for a quiet, clean and beautiful campground, you must stay here. We really liked it. Unfortunately, we could only stay one night because of our schedule. We hope to return here soon because Branson looks like a really fun town to explore.

Four out of five marshmallows.

I have wireless internet at my farm about 45 minutes to an hour East of Branson just off Hwy 76 at Goodhope,MO. Camping for self-contained RVs and tent camping spots are available. Just getting started with camping site rentals so mostly spots for self-contained at the time, but hoping to add some full hookup spots before the summer camping season gets here. Very rural, horses, dogs, berries & organic produce in season, just about everything you’d expect to find on a farm. Not the typical crowded campground but has a reasonably fast satellite internet connection available. Anyway, come by for a visit next time you’re in this area.
