Big Buildings!

We went shopping yesterday in The Woodlands. Good heavens that place has grown since we moved away. There are so many shops and restaurants that Richard and I were trying to figure out where they put all the people that must be required to live nearby to support all those businesses.

We left Richard at Borders so he could get the current issue of WritersWeekly sent out (using their wi-fi connection) and we took the children to the toy store. They all picked out some outdoor goodies to play with at the ranch. We found a Marine Paratrooper GI Joe with a huge parachute and are sending that to our brother-in-law, Dave, who’s serving in Iraq right now. The best box we could find to ship it was a Girl Scout Cookies box…so we threw some of those in there, too. I think it would be cruel to send somebody something in a Girl Scout Cookie box without putting some of those cookies in there.

We went to dinner with friends on Westheimer last night and Max got to see the “big buildings!” in downtown Houston. He’d never seen anything like that before and he was quite awestruck by the sight.

Tonight we’re having another family dinner out and we’re having yet another one tomorrow night. I’m quite sure my jeans aren’t going to fit after a few more days of this!
